So here is a belated Five minute Friday. The word was comfort. We were given it 2 weeks go. I mulled over the word, thinking about how God comforts us so we can comfort others. The days went by, one by one as I planned what I would write, until the week had passed and I had written nothing. For comfort was bending the rules, not planning on paper, but planning in my mind, until I had it perfected, something that was worth sharing with the world. Dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s. And so in my perfectionism, clinging to my comfort zone, I missed the deadline to share, and something that could have been used to by my heavenly daddy to encourage a fellow perfectionist, didn’t get written. So now I surrender, placing my words in his hands and praying he can use me, as I discover my writers voice, despite my fear of words.

Father, I’m scared of words, I wasn’t good at English at school, but you can turn our minuscule offerings into something of beauty. Have your way daddy. Amen

The End of Lent

So it’s the end of lent, and I’ve managed to blog myself through lent. For me, taking up blogging for lent was far better than taking up blogging for my new years resolution, then I would have been fighting the winter blues, to do something for lent is a much better time of year, and a shorter time.

I wanted to get into blogging more this year, I wished I could commit to blog every day…but I was blessed to read Tanya Marlows post Confessions of a recovering perfectionist just before lent and learnt, if it was worth doing, it was worth doing badly, better to blog through lent a few times a week (or even miss a week), than not to blog at all.

I have enjoyed starting to find my voice, and hope to now continue to blog regularly. One word of warning though…I’m off on retreat next week and am banned from the internet and the phone…so I will be silent over the next week (I think I’ve more that made up for it with all the posts today though 😉 but I hope to be back. Thanks for reading.
