Thank you to the toddler, who took me for a walk to the post box and on to the play ground, observant, enjoying the swings, desperate to climb up frames far too big for her, to try see-saws too big for her, to continually explore the playground, round and round and round again. And then to the park, where inspecting all the holes in the round stones provides 15 minutes of fun! Then a walk home, trying to break into cars and waving sweetly and innocently to passers-by, before trying to drag me within sight of sweeties! Thank you for an hour of cheering me up that made me feel better for some time beyond the time spent with you…until it faded away back into my darkness.
